TANYA GOREING
In 2006 when Tanya discovered she was pregnant with her first child, she decided it was time to pursue her goals and venture away from the normal 8-5 grind that had dominated her life since graduating from the University of Western Ontario with an Honor’s degree in Sociology.  Soul Treatments was born shortly after her son due to her belief in alternative therapies and her desire to encourage others to make positive changes in their lives.

 

Tanya is a Certified Reflexologist (2007) with specialization in Maternity (2010) and Baby & Child Reflexology (2009), a Hot Stone (2007) and Indian Head Massage Therapist (2008) and Doula (2009).   

 

Having a natural instinct to help others, Tanya joined HALO in July 2008 as a teaching assistant for Reflexology and Hot Stone Massage, and began work on an Infant Reflexology class that would be taught to new moms struggling with common infant concerns.  In November 2008, Tanya was offered the opportunity to train as an instructor of Doula Services with Gaby von Pagenhart when she brought her programs to HALO.  After completing her training, Tanya became a full time instructor with HALO and has never looked back!

SARAH MOLONEY

Sarah, Mom of 4 Extraordinaire!  Sarah took a huge leap two years ago while retiring from the Military and into the holistic world of healing and ultimately birth while in her 3rd trimester.  She believes wholeheartedly in women and makes it her ambition and goal to help empower the masses that she meets.  From menses to menopause Sarah’s work encompasses Holistic Fertility and Reproductive Health, Birth and Postpartum healing, she is an Infant Massage Instructor, Placenta Encapsulator, Eco Maternity Consultant, Suspension Yoga Instructor and has joined the HALO team proudly to be a future Instructor.

Sarah never stops seeking out new information and knowledge to better herself and in turn her clients.  She is certain that a well rounded Doula should be able to offer qualities to fit every stage of a mothers journey.  Birth is beautiful - but educating about birth is a necessity!

SHAUNACY KING

Shaunacy unknowingly began her journey towards Birth Doula work and Childbirth Educator some time ago when she began an academic career in research and teaching.

As the owner of, Glow Maternity, a business related to supporting the experiences of birth and parenting, Shaunacy was first inspired to educate and be an advocate for the parents of her community by a committed network of health professionals. It was after the birth of her firstborn in 2010 that she realized she had a passion for supporting other families through their birth experiences and she began leading Glow Maternity’s “village” of professionals in birth support and education.

With a background in academia, Shaunacy is driven by an evidence based approach to educating and assisting expectant and new parents.  “My background in social research naturally drives me towards approaching birth and parenting from a perspective of advocacy.  Meaning, I strongly feel that each family should receive all of the facts that will lead to their best birth and birthing ‘their own way’.”

With a lust for learning Shaunacy continuously welcomes an opportunity to diversify the skills and knowledge she can offer her clients and students.  Owner and team leader for birth services at Glow Maternity, placenta encapsulator, Childbirth Educator and, most importantly, mother of two sweet children, Shaunacy is imbued with a love for birth, babies & beyond!
