Birth Doula Training for Certified Doulas
We value your existing knowledge and experience. HALO is growing and making a presence in the birth world. Our doulas really enjoy the personal relationships that they have with their instructors, mentors and sister doulas. Once your initial HALO certification is complete, you will never be asked to recertify, no annual membership fees, and HALO doulas pay reduced fees for our electives. HALO also offers opportunities for growth. We have a mentor program where our experienced doulas provide one on one support to our newer doula students and we have a doula program instructor application process.
Accelerated Certification Process
In no particular order each certified doula student who would like to join our organization must complete the following requirements. Students have a maximum of 1 year to complete all requirements from the date they attended the 16 hour Birth Doula training course. Extensions may be granted on an individual basis.
Provide proof of certification through another training organization
Attend 16 hour Doula Training Canada Birth Doula training course
Obtain 8 approved Educational Units and provide a 1 page summary for each topic
Be certified in Standard First Aid and CPR level C
Provide birth support to two families with evaluations
Achieve a minimum grade of 85% on an online mid-term examination
Complete 3 required readings (as specified by your instructor) and provide a 1 page summary for each
Assignments and projects as required
Achieve a minimum grade of 85% on an online final examination
Reflective paper
Cost
$395
$100 deposit due at time of registration, balance paid within 3 weeks of in class training workshop
Cost of electives, first aid and CPR training and books are not included in registration fee
HALO does not charge membership fees or other annual fees.
